Senior Manager/Supervisor

Job description: Controller

Summary:
This position will be responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, managing the finance and accounting departments, and job costing analysis. The candidate we are looking for must be dynamic, fast learning, and willing to jump into any task to support the company to continue to be an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies.
• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts for projects.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project financial records.
• Ensure proper allocation of project costs, including labor, materials, and subcontractors.
• Review and reconcile project budgets and actual costs regularly.
• Manage and report on the company's Work in Progress (WIP) schedule.
• Analyze WIP to assess project profitability and revenue recognition.
• Implement controls to mitigate WIP-related risks.
• Prepare and present timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
• Monitor cash flow and work closely with project managers to optimize cash management.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Utilize Power BI for data integration and visualization, aiming for real-time reporting.
• Drive automation initiatives to streamline financial processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial tasks.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• Proven experience in construction accounting, project accounting, and WIP management.
• Strong knowledge of construction industry financial standards and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
